EAGLE RIVER VACATION

We took our annual vacation trip to Eagle River.
Unfortunately, the weather wasn't fantastic and we didn't get as much time on/in the lake as we'd have liked.
We still found lots of things to do and had a wonderful time.
SWIMMING...
Shannon thought Andy would make a good form of transportation out to the swim raft.
Caitlin the comedian...always looking for a good laugh!

The water was pretty cold but that didn't stop Logan from paddling around.

BOATING...
Logan loved to drive the boat with his cousin Andy.
He's not a huge fan of the wind hitting his face, so being behind the windshield suits
him perfectly.

Shannon likes to sit in the bow seats and really takes a risk by not hanging on :)

Cait is all smiles...the faster and crazier the ride the better!

A calmer form of boating...the kids had lots of fun taking the paddle boat for a spin.

WATERSPORTS...
We had one really nice day where we all got to tube, water ski, and ride the jet ski.
Shannon is all set for her ride.

Both girls LOVE jetskiing.
Melissa and Caitlin went for this ride.
You can see how the weather changed a bit just by looking at the clouds and rough water.
WILDLIFE PARK...
One of the colder days we visited a wildlife park outside of Minocqua.
We weren't sure what to expect but this zoo was fantastic.
They had all kinds of different animals that were really active.
You could also get really close to most of them. One building was full of parakeets.
You could buy a treat stick and then the birds would sit on it and eat.
Logan was really good at getting the birds to come to him.One of our favorite parts was feeding the bears!!!!
You could buy bottles of "bear juice" and put it through the cage and the bears would drink it.
Becky was so close she touched the bear's claws!Caitlin feeding a baby goat.Becky and Melissa deep in conversation with the camel.HORSEBACK RIDING...
The girls, and their cousins Becky and Melissa, and I go riding every year.
This year Logan and Chris joined us too!
Shannon is an old pro. She's ridden a bunch of times already.Caitlin was so excited that she got to ride alone this year.
I was a little nervous but she did great.I thought Logan wouldn't be too sure but he loved riding!Everyone was all lined up and ready to hit the trail.
Our guide told us they've run into coyotes and have seen bear tracks along the trail.
Thankfully for us...just horses and humans on this trail.
Everyone had a really good time.FISHING...
The kids fished a few times off of the pier.
They all became expert anglers - even casting their own lines into the water :)
Caitlin trying to be patient and leave her worm in the water for a little bit.

Logan had casting down to an art and only caught the pier once! CAMPFIRE...
We can't go upnorth without having at least one campfire on the beach.
And what better thing to do with a campfire...make s'mores!

We look forward to this vacation every year and can't wait for next summer:)
